Introducing...The Un-Nanny
Over the last several months, I've begun another chapter of my life. I've been invited into people's homes to help them learn more about Radical Unschooling philosophy. It's much like being an Unschooling Doula, or the "Un-Nanny" for the weekend. I spend time with parents and their kids as they go about their days and when common issues arise, I make mental notes. In the evening we relax and discuss our day and I offer another perspective on how to work in partnership with one another.
Here is some recent feedback from a few parents who invited me into their homes for parenting support.
"Dayna, we can't thank you enough for spending the weekend with us and working with us to a more peaceful path. The time we spent with you changed our lives as a family. I understood RU philosophy on a certain level, but you showed us how to truly LIVE it!" Sharon- Belfast, Maine
"I never knew that two days with someone could improve our family life so much. I now understand what we have been doing "wrong" for so long. Having you see how we interact and then share information with us about it at the end of the day was invaluable. It was so helpful" Dan - Agawam Southwick, Mass.
"Wow! is all I can say about your kindness and insight! I am so glad we hired you to hang out with us for the weekend! Your feedback and support was like nothing we've ever experienced. We used to fight with our kids everyday. Now we are living in harmony. I never knew this type of life was possible. Thank you so much!" Kelly- New York, NY
When I travel to work with families, I bring my family. We stay in a hotel nearby and I spend 6-8 hours a day, for 2 or 3 days, with you while my family explores the area. It's very personal, hands-on support and a fun way that you can experience individualized advice catered to your unique family dynamic and issues. If you so desire, you can spend time with my family as part of the weekend. This is a great way to learn more about a partnership paradigm, through spending time with a family who is already living it! It's one thing to read about RU and a peaceful, connected parenting philosophy, but another to apply it. It can be so challenging, and I am here to help you take what you've learned and bring the peace, joy and connection to your family life.
If you are interested in having me be part of your life for a weekend to help you learn more about Radical Unschooling and respectful, peaceful parenting, just drop me an email here. We are willing to travel anywhere in the world to support others on their path.
This just may be the most leading-edge way to learn about how to shift your life from fear and control, to peace and connection with your family!

This is so exciting to think about Dayna and I can't wait to see all this on TV... it's going to change so many lives! ;-)
I agree! This is awesome! :)
Sorry, that last comment was from Valerie Thorp, thought it would sign...
What an amazing gift to give families Dayna. It's always helpful to have insight from someone outside your family circle. I'd love to have you visit our family! Too bad we are in CA. Maybe when your show starts!
So often I have thought that someone should be doing this! I'm so happy that it is YOU....Love, LOve, LOVE, it, Dayna and am so excited thinking of all of the lives you are touching!
Oh Dayna, I just LOVE this! Man I wish I had kids right now! I look forward to the show!
Now if they could just take Super Nanny off the air...
This is so exciting, Dayna! I can't say how thrilled I am for you to have found a way to contribute to supporting your family and at the same time give your kids a chance to explore new and different parts of the world and most of all, to contribute to peace in the world by helping people get onto a peaceful, non-coercive path of parenting and living. Sounds like a win-win-win all around! (Meets my need for hope, as well).
How gratifying and exciting it must be for you all. WOW!!!
Dayna,
What you are doing is amazing. You will forever change the lives of the people you help. I know the show will be wonderful, and I hope it brings some positive attention to unschooling.
Dayna
This is so awesome and sooo needed. I cringe whenever I see Supernanny on the TV line-up.
happy day!

What a wonderful thing!
I just spent the last couple hours reading and enjoying your blog after someone on FB sent a link. I love your philosophy on life and family. I had not explored the unschooling idea in depth previously, we do not have children as of yet, but you have given me MUCH to consider. Thank you for sharing!
SOOOO cool!!!!! I watched the super nanny show and it made me so sad. I thought how totally amazing it would be if this could be an unschooling super un-nanny! Way to go, Dayna!
Maybe someday if and when I ever adopt a child or children. You and your family would LOVE Houston, and if I do ever adopt an older waiting child, I will need all the help I can get with whatever attachment issues they may have.
This is a wonderful thing you are doing. I'm looking forward to seeing what's coming up.
Dayna, this so totally rocks!! I cannot wait to see the show!
Hi Dayna, What a great way to spread this amazing life style.
This is so super fabulous Dayna!!!
Rock on my sistah! i am so glad that we will have the full buffet of parenting options available in the mass media because of your willingness to share...if there is going to be a Super Nanny, it feels awesome to have a Fun-Un-Nanny like you for contrast!
celebrating your lovely example,

What an awesome service!
It is wonderful to see that more parents are open to this way of caring and educating children. As I watch the public school system implement demoralizing controls on childrens minds and bodies, I am glad I am not alone in my thinking. Good job Dayna!

This is the most exciting thing EVER!!!! A alternative to those horrible super nannies!!
Sounds amazing...I think I'll invite you to come to Dominica one of these days soon! onelove
Terri, just let me know when and I can send you details. Love, Dayna
That's so awesome. Not signing up but I have to say I was literally wishing for some temporary live-in life adjustment support today...more family organization/healthy living without being restrictive stuff. So happy to see you doing something related. I know you will do great things!
Please Help Me Daynna! I've been home schooling our children since they began school. Kayleen is 8, Mayleena is 5, and Bodhi is 15 months. I am really wanting to transition to unschooling but have a lot of hang ups when it comes to reading. Kayleen is in the Aspergers spectrum and is not reading at age 8. Ok she reads a tiny bit but honestly has no interest in it at all, it's like pulling teeth. Even though it seems stupid I have the deep fear that she will never read, I know it's dumb but it feels real. That is why I continue to push her, even when my heart feels un easy about pushing her. What do you suggest. I would love some advice. She does like writing, copying things on the computer and off books but when it comes to me teaching her reading it's not too fun. Thank you so much!
Do you still offer this service??
