I am honored to be hosting a Grassroots Film Presentation here at my Teaching Studio of the new film "The Business of Being Born" on November 7th! It is a fundraiser for the Midwives of Maine. I am actually the only New Hampshire location offering the film that I know of.
Ricki Lake Produced the movie and her homebirth with her second child is part of the film. This documentary was the only film to receive a standing ovation at the Tribeca Film Festival. Having this type of film out in the mainstream will change the way people view birth. We are on the cusp of a evolutionary change regarding birth in our culture and I am honored to be part of it!
I also asked Flatbread Pizza if they would be interested in donating a few pizza's for the film showing. They offered to bring 10! I was so happy! The cost of the film and pizza is $15. My goal is to raise $200 for this cause.
