When we got back from Texas, Devin said that he missed our forest. (We live on 43 acres). He said he loved the city, but he wanted to create something out in nature.
So, today, Devin and I took on the task of making a "Lean-To", which is a shelter in the woods. He saw one on the show "Man vs. Wild" a while ago and has wanted to create one ever since. So we jumped online and researched how to do it. We gathered sticks together and created this interesting forest shelter.
This project was so much fun! I was in charge of tying everything together while he laid all of the sticks in the way he wanted. I love when he and I start building something like this together. It takes me a few minutes to "get into it", but once I do, we are so in the moment and work together perfectly when we have a task at hand. We are really supportive of one another and if something isn't working the other person encourages and vice-versa.
I love these times together. He loves that I am not afraid to "get dirty", in his words.

Reminds me of "Sully" from Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman. He lived in something like that in the early seasons.
